TIMELINE OF SCREAMFEST HORROR FILM FESTIVAL

2014 – Concept development

Idea created to celebrate classic and modern horror films.

2018 – International expansion

Began screening horror films from different countries. Broadened target audience and cultural diversity.

2015 – Official launch

First ScreamFest event held. Focused on cult classics and well-known horror titles.

2020 – Virtual festival edition

Hosted online screenings due to COVID restrictions. Included live-streamed discussions about classic horror films.

2016 – Themed programming introduced

Added theme nights e.g. slasher night, physiological night. Increased audience engagement and ticket sales.

2023 – Sponsorship and partners

Partnered with local cinemas and horror merchandise brands. Improved marketing and increased attendance.

2017 – Audience voting system

Introduced “fan favourite film” award. Allowed the attendees to vote for their best screening of the festival.

2025 – Multi-venu expansion

Expanded to multiple cinema locations. Introduced cosplay competitions and horror trivia events.
